Workshop Description:

This seminar introduces students to the basic skills required for using Microsoft PowerPoint effectively. The focus is on creating clear, structured, and visually appealing presentations, especially for academic purposes.

It begins with an overview of basic terminology and the user interface. Participants learn how to create presentations and work with text, lists, and tables. The course also covers working with shapes and inserting external objects such as Excel tables and graphics.

An important focus lies in using and customizing design templates, slide masters, and SmartArt tools. These help ensure consistency and clarity in layout and visual structure. Transitions and animations are introduced as tools for effectively supporting content delivery.

The seminar also includes methods for linking slides and using transitions to create more interactive presentations. Students will learn how to prepare a presentation for output, including printing slides, handouts, and notes.

Each participant creates a short presentation on a topic from their field of study and presents it to the group. Tools for presenting, such as notes, laser pointer, and screen display options, are also introduced.

About Dr. Marc Stockmeier:

Dr. Marc Stockmeier holds a degree in physics and has been working as a freelancer at SRH since 2018, where he teaches and advises on topics such as office applications and scientific writing. His professional expertise also includes photography, IT consulting, and computer technology, with a particular focus on the interface between education and technology. He is currently working intensively on future-oriented topics such as photovoltaics, solar panel technology, and battery and battery cell technology. In addition, he is interested in social issues in the fields of politics, culture, and society.
